Common NamePhosphorus
DescriptionPhosphorus, also known as 15P or fosforo, belongs to the class of inorganic compounds known as homogeneous other non-metal compounds. These are inorganic non-metallic compounds in which the largest atom belongs to the class of 'other non-metals'. Phosphorus exists in all eukaryotes, ranging from yeast to plants to humans. In humans, phosphorus is involved in the paclitaxel action pathway. Phosphorus is a primary metabolite. Primary metabolites are metabolically or physiologically essential metabolites. They are directly involved in an organism’s growth, development or reproduction. Phosphorus, with regard to humans, has been found to be associated with several diseases such as fructose intolerance, hereditary and cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis; phosphorus has also been linked to the inborn metabolic disorder glycerol intolerance syndrome. Based on a literature review a significant number of articles have been published on Phosphorus.
