Cannabis Compound Identification
Common Name3-vinyl-2-azanaphthalene
Description3-Vinyl-2-azanaphthalene, also known as 3-Vinylisoquinoline, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as isoquinolines and derivatives. These are aromatic polycyclic compounds containing an isoquinoline moiety, which consists of a benzene ring fused to a pyridine ring and forming benzo[c]pyridine. 3-Vinyl-2-azanaphthalene is one of several structural isomers of vinylisoquinoline which is substituted by one vinyl group at different positions. 3-Vinyl-2-azanaphthalene is formed during the combustion of cannabis and is therefore a constituent of cannabis smoke ( Ref:DOI ).
