Cannabis Compound Identification
Common NamePyridin-3-ylmethanediamine
DescriptionPyridin-3-ylmethanediamine or 1-pyridin-3-ylmethanediamine, belongs to the class of organic compound known as pyridines and derivatives. These are compounds containing a pyridine ring, which is a six-member aromatic heterocycle which consists of one nitrogen atom and five carbon atoms. Pyridin-3-ylmethanediamine is one of several isomers of pyridine containing a methanediamine constituent at different positions around the pyridine ring. Pyridin-3-ylmethanediamine is a weakly basic compound (based on it's pKa). Pyridin-3-ylmethanediamine is formed during the combustion of cannabis and is therefore a constituent of cannabis smoke ( Ref:DOI ).
