Description2,5-Dimethylpyridine, C7H9N, is a member of the class of compounds known as methylpyridines. Methylpyridines are organic compounds containing a pyridine ring substituted at one or more positions by a methyl group. 2,5-dimethylpyridine is soluble in water and is a strong base. It is a colorless to pale yellow clear liquid with a roasted green earthy flavor that has been found in tea leaf ( Ref:DOI ). 2,5-dimethylpyridine is formed during the combustion of cannabis and is therefore a constituent of cannabis smoke ( Ref:DOI ).
