These are organic compounds containing a ketone that is conjugated to a cyclic moiety (±)-2,2,6- It is a trimethylated derivative of Cyclohexanone. (±)-2,2,6-Trimethylcyclohexanone is a cistus, honey, and labdanum tasting compound. Outside of the human body, (±)-2,2,6-Trimethylcyclohexanone has been detected in cauliflowers and oats. 2,2,6-Trimethylcyclohexanone is one of several ketones that are known to occur in cannabis plants (PMID: 6991645 ).
